Dr. Claypool training our team around cat friendly practices

Yes, we do! But what does that mean?

The CFVP or Cat-Friendly Veterinary Professional certificate program teaches core principles around understanding cats and feline behavior and how to reduce stress during a veterinary visit. Our very own Dr. Claypool has completed additional learning to receive this designation!

We at Blue Valley Animal Hospital are focused on making the wellness exam experience for our feline clients a positive experience. We know this is a lifetime relationship and want to make sure each time we see your feline family member, it is not stressful for them or you.

We Achieve This By

  • Tailoring our interactions with your cat by understanding and appropriately responding to their current emotional state. Their emotional state can depend on genetics, life stage, and previous experiences with vet care.

  • Provide a calming environment for your cat. Soothing music, warmed blankets, whatever is needed to help your feline family member be comfortable.

  • Allowing the cat to feel safe and have a sense of control, this not only makes sure the current visit goes well but that future visits do too.

  • Prepare the exam room before the appointment, ensuring all potential stressors are non-existent.

Being a locally owned and operated veterinary practice for over four decades we understand the importance of building relationships with both the pet and their parent. Our highly trained team of veterinary professionals knows that each patient is unique, ensuring that care is not offered in a cookie-cutter format but individualized for each patient and visit.

We are honored to be trusted with your four-legged family member and will always offer top-level service to them and to you.
